CLEARWATER, FL Small local airport was taken over by the fans of the Tampa Bay Rays Sunday night as they welcomed home the Rays from their win against the Kansas City Royals.

The fans were out. Entertainment was provided in the form of a DJ, cow bells, water and other items.

St Petersburg/Clearwater International Airport is located on the Tampa Bay just between the city of Clearwater and St Petersburg. Usually, it only has one airline that flies into the airport with about four flights a day. The international status comes from the charter flights that come in and the seasonal Canadian airlines requirering a Customs services onsite.

It was quite a change to see this newly renovated airport filled with people and media enjoying the face lift provided by the stimulus program.
